FRITT FALL begins already in the main stairway of the Finnish National Gallery, Ateneum. There the extraordinary rope acrobatics of Sanna Silvennoinen meets with the melodic jazz improvisation of Tapani Rinne. Inside the venue, Ateneum Hall circus and music continue their conversation as equal participants. New viewpoints to circus are found through the sounds created by the movement of the juggler and the acrobat. The music on the other hand continues from single notes to new direction: the musician’s relationship to other people, the space in question and the surrounding world.

Visual appeal of the living picture surrealistic situations and the plastic movement of juggling, featuring new music by Kimmo Pohjonen and Samuli Kosminen.

The theme of Discussions is the relationship of communication and juggling, magic and video. The forms of communication vary from movies and literature to flagsigns, from gestures to morse coding. An old soviet film is combined with pictures from our life. The layers of time and reality mix as identity and communication stretch across decades.

Verbal and physical acrobatics, theatre and music – everyday aphorisms expressed through words and motion.

What happens when a ropewalker meets an musician – there is much to cross! A rope crosses the stage at the height of four metres. And what is the giant instrument found in the ladder?

Crossings shows the viewer a wisdom hidden in everyday life. Without falling it balances on the thin rope of speech and physical performance.

Multimagiga is a magical performance based on a new illusionary technique. A man split apart, levitates and appears again like in films Matrix or Terminator. Everything happens on an empty stage without the boxes so typical for a magician. A technique developed for years by Tatu Tyni is now brought to the stage for the first time!
Multimagiga is a mixture of magical performance and theatre, a kind of music video to the stage. Events flow from one point to another, things twist to something else and feelings turn upside down. The magician’s hands live a life of their own, the stage runs to a video-like standstill, the performance on video rolls backwards or skips a second or two of real time. Multimagiga is a flow of events not abiding the laws of the rational world.
